Tues. 12/30 - Rome - Basilica of St. Bartholomew and the Gesu'

We finished our Tuesday with  a visit to the Basilica of St. Bartholomew, at which St. John Paul II commissioned a memorial to the new martyrs, those who died for their Catholic faith in the 20th and 21st centuries. We then visited the Church of the Gesu', at which the right arm of St. Francis Xavier is displayed.  With that arm he baptized more than 300,000 people.  Our day ended with dinner at our hotel.
